Caspar Community Convenes Annual Meeting

The Caspar Community organization will convene their annual meeting on Sunday, September 12th at 3PM. The Caspar Community, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating public open-space and preserving the quality of all life in Caspar, meets at the Mendocino Coast Jewish Community Center, the second Sunday of every month. The September gathering will celebrate this year's successes and review goals and objectives. Judy Tarbell will lead a discussion and bring the community up-to-date on the progress toward acquisition of the Caspar Headlands and north riparian of Caspar Creek. To help raise funds and celebrate community, the Caspar Community is seeking volunteers to assist with planning and coordinating three events scheduled for the last three months of this millennium.
In October, the Second Annual Gorse Festival will be held October 8th through 10th. The Event will feature a craft show, a myriad of musical entertainment, a street fair , a gorse census project, and a CD release party. On Halloween, Sunday October 31st., Caspar will host a community costume parade--for children of all ages ---formerly a yearly happening, will be restored at the suggestion of Susan and Jerry Juhl of Caspar. Finally, Caspar will celebrate the new millennium with their "Y2K, Me Worry?" party. For details and to find out how to become more involved in fun and fund raising, the Caspar Community invites the public to attend monthly meetings or come by the community office, located kitty-corner from the Caspar Inn, Monday through Thursday, and Saturday from 10 AM to 12 noon. The Caspar Community Office phone number is 964-4997 and the website is www.mcn.org/1/caspar.
